The Seattle Seahawks beat the Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 on Sunday night at Lumen Field, handing Kansas City (5-1) its first loss of the season. Jaxon Smith-Njigba caught nine passes for 150 yards and a touchdown, and Seattle (4-3) snapped a two-game losing streak, according to the Associated Press.
"We knew how big this game was, and we wanted this one badly," Smith-Njigba said. "You know, we saw it as a playoff game."
Neither team scored in the first quarter. Darnold hit Smith-Njigba for 33 yards early in the second to set up Jason Myers' 25-yard field goal. On the next Kansas City series, Ty Okada intercepted Patrick Mahomes on a throw meant for Jalen Royals, and Seattle turned it into a 28-yard touchdown from Darnold to Smith-Njigba with 1:44 left in the half.

Seattle nearly made it 17-0. Another 28-yard catch by Smith-Njigba got the ball to the Kansas City 1 in the final seconds, but Nohl Williams intercepted Darnold in the back of the end zone and ran it back deep into Seattle territory. Harrison Butker's 58-yard try fell short as time ran out.
Myers added a 35-yarder in the third quarter for a 13-0 lead. The Chiefs got to the Seattle 30 late in the quarter, Mahomes fumbled on third down, and Butker settled for a 50-yard field goal. Butker then missed from 45 early in the fourth quarter, wide right.
Emanuel Wilson put it away with a 21-yard touchdown run with 3:47 left. He finished with 100 yards on 24 carries.
Darnold completed 20 of 28 passes for 257 yards with a touchdown and an interception. Seattle outgained Kansas City 410-213, converted 11 of 16 third downs and held the ball for 35:51. The Seahawks did leave points on the field, going 0 for 3 in the red zone.
Mahomes was 19 of 33 for 165 yards with the interception. Kenneth Walker III, back in Seattle after winning Super Bowl MVP with the Seahawks last season, ran 14 times for 36 yards. He came in averaging a league-leading 133 rushing yards a game. Seattle hasn't allowed a 100-yard rusher in 36 games, the longest active streak in the league, according to the AP.
Travis Kelce caught four passes for 44 yards. That gives him 1,104 career catches, passing Marvin Harrison and Cris Carter for fifth in NFL history.
Seattle receiver Rashid Shaheed left early in the second half with a knee injury and didn't return, and tackle Charles Cross left in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. Running back Zach Charbonnet was activated this week but ruled out. Kansas City played without receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring) for a third straight game and tackle Jaylon Moore (concussion protocol).
The Chiefs visit Denver next Sunday. The Seahawks host Chicago on Monday, Nov. 2.
