Minnesota, Detroit, Oklahoma City and the Lakers all moved to 3-0 in Sunday's early NBA games, and both New York teams are still looking for their first win. Two of the night's results that didn't get their own recap came in Minneapolis and Brooklyn.
Timberwolves 117, Raptors 94. Anthony Edwards scored 26 points and Minnesota won its home opener to move to 3-0. The Wolves have won all three games by at least 22 points, according to the Associated Press. LaMelo Ball was limited by foul trouble in his first regular-season game at Target Center and still scored 15 points, made 4 of 5 3-pointers and handed out eight assists. Rudy Gobert grabbed 13 rebounds and Jaden McDaniels had 14 points and three blocks. Toronto played without Kawhi Leonard, who was ruled out an hour before tipoff with swelling in his left knee. Ja'Kobe Walter scored 22 in his place, and Scottie Barnes went 0 for 12. The Raptors are 2-1.
Pacers 136, Nets 109. Tyrese Haliburton had 24 points and 10 assists in Brooklyn. He missed all of last season after tearing his right Achilles tendon. His two-handed breakaway dunk in the third quarter drew a reaction from the Indiana bench, and coach Rick Carlisle said afterward, "He's back." Indiana shot 58% from the field and made 21 3-pointers, and Pascal Siakam added 21 points. Center Ivica Zubac left in the first quarter with a sprained left ankle. Nolan Traore scored 17 off the bench for the Nets, who are 0-3.
