  • Jake Bates made a 22-yard field goal as time expired, and the Detroit Lions beat the Green Bay Packers 20-17 on Sunday at Ford Field. The Lions (4-2) have won two straight for the first time this season. Green Bay (4-3) had its three-game winning streak snapped and fell to last place in the NFC North, according to the Associated Press.

  • The game turned on a blocked kick. With the score tied 17-17 and under five minutes left, Detroit coach Dan Campbell went for it on fourth-and-1 from his own 24, and Jahmyr Gibbs was stopped for no gain. Green Bay drove inside the 20, and Jordan Love put a pass on Josh Jacobs' hands in the end zone that fell incomplete. On the next play, D.J. Wonnum got a finger on rookie Trey Smack's 35-yard try and it missed. Smack had also missed from 26 yards in the first half.

Detroit took over and Jared Goff hit Sam LaPorta for 18 yards. A late hit by Karl Brooks moved the ball to the Green Bay 45, Gibbs ran for 15, and Brooks jumped offside on third-and-5 to give the Lions a first down at the Packers 15. Green Bay stopped trying to tackle Gibbs so it could get the ball back, but Gibbs went down short of the goal line and let Bates win it on the final snap.

Safety Brian Branch, back in the lineup, had an interception.

Love was 27 of 45 for 274 yards with two touchdowns and an interception.
