Garrett Wilson will not play Sunday when the New York Jets visit the Kansas City Chiefs. Adam Schefter reported Friday that the Jets ruled him out because of his concussion. The NFL.com Friday injury roundup led with the same designation.
Wilson leads the Jets with 43 catches for 527 yards and three touchdowns. He entered the concussion protocol after a helmet-to-helmet hit in last week's loss to the Raiders, then missed practice earlier in the week. The Friday out call ends any chance he suits up at Arrowhead.
What New York loses
Wilson is the clear No. 1 option in an offense that is 2-6 and already searching for consistency. Without him, the Jets lean on younger receivers against a Chiefs team that is 5-2 and at home. Running back Breece Hall has been working back from a quad injury that cost him five games and said this week he is ready to play Sunday, which would give the ground game a lift even as the passing chart shrinks.

Kansas City remains one of the harder environments in the league for a short-handed receiver group. For the Jets, it is another week without their best skill player while they try to keep the deficit from growing in November.
