  • Golden State rookie Yaxel Lendeborg scored a career-high 37 points on 13-of-19 shooting in Sunday's 124-112 win over the Clippers, and that night puts him at the top of our first Monday list of NBA rookies to watch. The NBA says it was the most points by a Warriors rookie in one game since Stephen Curry in 2010. Every number below comes from ESPN's season stats and box scores through Sunday.

  • 1. Yaxel Lendeborg, Warriors (No. 11 pick). Lendeborg averages 22.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in seven games while shooting 52 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three. Sunday he made six threes and handed out six assists as Golden State won its fourth straight.

    2. Darius Acuff Jr., Kings (No. 7). Acuff leads all rookies at 26.3 points per game and adds 6.3 assists. He scored 38 at Memphis on Saturday and made nine threes, which the NBA says ties the rookie record. At 19, he is the youngest player in Kings history with back-to-back 30-point games. The catch is efficiency, at 39.6 percent from the field.

  • 3. Cameron Boozer, Grizzlies (No. 3). Boozer posted a career-high 27 points and nine rebounds in that same game, a 136-105 Memphis win that made the Grizzlies 6-0 for the first time since 2014-15. He averages 17.3 points, 10.5 rebounds and 5.7 assists.

    4. Caleb Wilson, Bulls (No. 4). Wilson scores 21.2 points a game and is the only rookie on this list averaging at least 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks.

    5. AJ Dybantsa, Wizards (No. 1). The top pick has played two games and averages 18 points on 56.5 percent shooting.

  • 6. Darryn Peterson, Jazz (No. 2). Peterson had 16 points, four rebounds and four assists in Saturday's 112-90 home loss to Portland. He averages 13.3 points but is shooting 35.9 percent.

    7. Kingston Flemings, Hawks (No. 8). Flemings averages 4.7 assists in about 20 minutes and had 12 points, six assists and four steals against New Orleans on Saturday.

Keep an eye on: Cavaliers guard Meleek Thomas, a second-round pick, is averaging 13 points and has made 7 of 12 threes in three games.

The race to watch this week is Lendeborg against Acuff for the top rookie scoring line. Lendeborg is the more efficient shooter and is winning games, while Acuff is putting up bigger totals on a lot more shots. Boozer's case rests on doing everything for the league's last unbeaten team.
