Hank Brown completed 20 of 24 passes for 222 yards and two touchdowns, and Iowa shut out No. 25 Wisconsin 30-0 on Saturday at Kinnick Stadium. It was the 100th meeting between the rivals and the second straight year Iowa has held the Badgers scoreless, after a 37-0 win last season, according to the Associated Press.
Iowa scored on its first drive and on six of its first seven possessions. Brown hit tight end DJ Vonnahme for a 4-yard touchdown in the first quarter, then capped a 98-yard drive late in the first half with a 4-yard score to Tony Diaz. Caden Buhr's 28-yard field goal at the end of the half, set up by a Colton Joseph fumble, made it 20-0.
Vonnahme added a 2-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, and Buhr finished the scoring with a career-long 54-yard field goal. Diaz caught four passes for 75 yards, Vonnahme had five for 54 and Xavier Williams ran 20 times for 78 yards.

Wisconsin's best chance came in the second quarter, when it reached the Iowa 1. Abu Sama III was stopped on fourth down, and the Badgers never got that close again. Joseph went 5 of 14 for 90 yards before freshman Ryan Hopkins replaced him in the second half. Hopkins was 8 of 13 for 93 yards and threw an interception to Jacob Wallace.
Wisconsin finished with 235 total yards, 52 of them on the ground, and turned it over three times. Iowa had only two penalties for 10 yards and held the ball for more than 36 minutes. Linebacker Cooper Catalano made 16 tackles for the Badgers in a losing effort.
The result flips the mood from a week ago for both teams. Wisconsin was coming off a 24-7 upset of USC. Iowa was coming off its worst offensive game of the season, a 13-10 loss at Minnesota, and Brown, who came off the bench in that game, now looks settled as the starter. The Hawkeyes have won five straight in the series and outscored Wisconsin 148-26 in that stretch, per the AP. It was also Iowa's third shutout of the season.
Iowa is 6-2 (3-2 Big Ten), and Wisconsin falls to 5-3 (3-2).
What's next: Iowa visits Northwestern next Saturday, and Wisconsin hosts Rutgers.
