J'Koby Williams ran for 175 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown with 2:05 left, and No. 13 Texas Tech beat No. 22 Arizona 34-26 on Saturday in Lubbock. The win tied a school record with 13 straight home victories, according to the Associated Press.
Tommy Castellanos got the start over Will Hammond a week after the 37-24 loss at Cincinnati, and coach Joey McGuire's move worked. Castellanos threw two touchdown passes and ran 19 times for 117 yards and a score. His 24-yard throw to Terrance Carter Jr. finished Texas Tech's first opening-drive touchdown since the season opener, per the AP.
Arizona answered with a big passing day. Noah Fifita completed 33 of 45 passes for 417 yards, and Isaiah Mizell caught seven for 182 yards, including a 94-yard touchdown in the second quarter. It was Mizell's third straight 100-yard game. Kedrick Reescano ran for two short touchdowns, and the Wildcats led 17-10 at halftime.

The game turned on a kick. After Reescano's 1-yard run put Arizona up 23-17 in the third quarter, Ansel Nedore blocked the extra point. Castellanos then hit Kenny Johnson for a 27-yard touchdown on fourth-and-2, and the Red Raiders led 24-23 and never trailed again.
Arizona had its chance early in the fourth quarter at the Texas Tech 18, but Fifita overthrew an open Tyler Powell on fourth-and-1. The Wildcats got the ball right back on a Cameron Dickey fumble and went three-and-out. Stone Harrington's 42-yard field goal made it 27-23, and Williams broke his long run to put it away. Arizona kicked a field goal with 22 seconds left, and Quinten Joyner recovered the onside kick.
The run game was the difference. Texas Tech ran for 328 yards, and Arizona ran for 12.
Both teams came in tied for second in the Big 12 behind unbeaten No. 6 Utah. Texas Tech is 7-1 (4-1), and Arizona falls to 6-2 (3-2) with its five-game winning streak over. The AP said Arizona freshman receiver R.J. Mosley left with what looked like a serious left leg injury.
What's next: Texas Tech hosts West Virginia next Saturday, and Arizona hosts TCU on Friday night.
