  • The Tampa Bay Rays start Freddy Peralta in Game 3 of the World Series tonight at Tropicana Field, trying to stop a Milwaukee Brewers team that leads the series 2-0 and has won seven games in a row. First pitch is set for 8 p.m. ET on Fox, according to ESPN's schedule, and both teams posted their lineups Monday afternoon.

Milwaukee starts left-hander Robert Gasser. He has allowed one run in two postseason starts, four innings against San Diego in the Division Series and five scoreless innings against the Dodgers in the NLCS, for a 1.00 ERA over nine innings.

  • Peralta was the ALCS MVP and has the best ERA in baseball since Aug. 26 at 0.89, ESPN's Jorge Castillo noted. He is 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA in 16 2/3 postseason innings, with 12 strikeouts and seven walks. The Brewers have seen plenty of him, and ESPN's Jesse Rogers said that may not matter if he lives at the top of the zone.

  • The matchup could favor Milwaukee's choice of starter. Tampa Bay's .678 OPS against left-handed pitching during the regular season was tied for 25th in the majors, although the Rays hit Max Fried and Parker Messick earlier in October.

Game 2 is why the Rays are in a hole. They led 4-0 in the first inning Saturday in Milwaukee, then lost 5-4 after Sal Frelick tied it with a home run and Cooper Pratt drove in the go-ahead run with a seventh-inning single, the Associated Press reported. It was Milwaukee's seventh comeback win among its nine postseason victories.

Both clubs are good at home. Tampa Bay went 55-26 at the Trop, the same home record as Milwaukee, which finished 103-59 overall to the Rays' 98-64. ESPN's betting line has the Rays as a slight favorite at -119 with a total of 7.

  • Lineups: Milwaukee bats Jackson Chourio, Jake Bauers, Christian Yelich, William Contreras, Brice Turang, Garrett Mitchell, Pratt, Frelick and David Hamilton. Tampa Bay goes with Yandy Diaz, Ryan Vilade, Chandler Simpson, Junior Caminero, Ben Williamson, Jonny DeLuca, Victor Mesa Jr., Nick Fortes and Taylor Walls.

What to watch: A loss would leave the Rays needing four straight wins to take the title. Game 4 is Tuesday at Tropicana Field.
