Keyone Jenkins threw a short touchdown pass to tight end Grayson Brousseau in the second overtime, and UCF beat No. 2 BYU 39-31 on Saturday at the Bounce House in Orlando. According to the Associated Press, it was the Knights' first win over a top-five team in school history.
BYU needed a touchdown and a two-point conversion to force a third overtime. The Cougars drove to the UCF 4, and on fourth down Bear Bachmeier's pass to Walker Lyons fell incomplete. Fans poured onto the field.
The second overtime turned on a penalty. UCF lined up for a field goal on its possession, and BYU was flagged for roughing the kicker, which gave the Knights a first-and-goal instead. Jenkins hit Brousseau for the touchdown and then found freshman Tyren Hornes for the two-point conversion that made it 39-31.

The first overtime went score for score. Bachmeier converted a third-and-long and then threw a 28-yard touchdown to Legend Glasker. Jenkins answered with a 25-yard touchdown pass to Josh Derry.
Regulation ended almost as strangely. UCF was driving for a winning field goal when Jenkins lost the ball on a play ruled a sack. Replay overturned it to an incomplete pass, BYU was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct, and that moved the Knights into range. BYU blocked Will Stone's 47-yard attempt to send the game to overtime tied at 24.
The lead changed hands all afternoon. Kyler Kasper's 27-yard catch put BYU up 7-0, Landen Chambers scored twice for UCF, including a 6-yard catch with 4 seconds left in the half, and Jenkins ran in from a yard out late in the third quarter for a 24-21 lead. Matthias Dunn tied it with a 47-yard field goal early in the fourth.
Jenkins finished 25 of 41 for 293 yards and three touchdowns without an interception, and ran for another score. Hornes caught six passes for 137 yards, Derry had six for 54, and Duke Watson ran for 94 yards on 15 carries. UCF outgained BYU 463-373 and didn't commit a turnover. Tackett Curtis had the Knights' interception.
Bachmeier went 16 of 32 for 257 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, and ran for a score. Kasper caught six passes for 129 yards. Linebacker Cade Uluave led BYU with 10 tackles.
BYU is 6-1 and 3-1 in the Big 12, and the AP noted the Cougars are the latest unbeaten team to fall in a wild few weeks. UCF is 4-3 and 2-2 and hosts Baylor on Friday.
