Josh Hoover ran 4 yards for a touchdown in overtime, and No. 6 Indiana held Michigan without a touchdown in a 13-6 win Saturday at Michigan Stadium. According to the Associated Press, it was Indiana's first win in the Big House since 1967.
Hoover had a rough afternoon until the extra period. He finished 8 of 18 for 81 yards and threw a third-quarter interception that set up a Michigan field goal, and coach Curt Cignetti said afterward that his quarterback isn't completely healthy. On the first snap of overtime, though, Hoover hit Brock Schott for 21 yards. A few plays later he kept it himself and scored.
Michigan got the ball needing a touchdown to force a second overtime. The Wolverines reached the Indiana 13, and on the last play Tommy Carr's pass hit the turf in front of Salesi Moa just outside the end zone.

Carr started over Bryce Underwood after coming off the bench in last week's win over Penn State, and the day got away from him in small pieces. He lost a fumble on a pitch in the first quarter and threw an interception in the second half. Two of his sacks killed drives that ended in missed field goals, including a 32-yard try after Michigan had reached the Indiana 1. In the final minute of regulation Michigan got to the Indiana 3, Carr was sacked for a fourth time, and Trey Butkowski kicked a 26-yard field goal as time expired to tie it at 6. Carr finished 20 of 32 for 167 yards. His brother, Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr, watched from the stadium with the Irish off this weekend.
Indiana's points before overtime came from Nico Radicic, who made field goals of 22 and 34 yards in the first half. Butkowski went 2 for 4 for Michigan, with his other make from 29 yards late in the third quarter.
The defenses ran the show. Michigan carried 42 times for 57 yards, 1.4 per rush, and Jordan Marshall led the way with 26 yards on 12 carries. Indiana linebacker Rolijah Hardy had nine tackles and two sacks, and Amare Ferrell intercepted Carr. Indiana ran for 131 yards, led by Turbo Richard's 68, and finished with 212 total yards to Michigan's 224. Michigan's Chris Bracy made 13 tackles, and Zeke Berry had the interception of Hoover.
The defending national champions are 7-1 and 4-1 in the Big Ten, and the AP noted they still haven't lost two straight games in three years under Cignetti. Michigan fell to 4-3 and 1-3.
Indiana hosts Minnesota next. Michigan plays at Rutgers on Saturday.
