The Chicago Bears beat the Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on Monday night at Lumen Field, and the player they traded for last week was a big reason why. Jeffery Simmons, acquired from Tennessee for a package that included two first-round picks, finished with a sack, a pass defensed and six tackles, according to the Bears and the AP recap on ESPN. D'Andre Swift ran for three touchdowns, and Chicago (6-2) has won three straight.
Caleb Williams set the tone on the first drive. The Bears went 17 plays and 80 yards, and Williams threw a 1-yard touchdown to Luther Burden III. ESPN called it Chicago's longest opening drive since 2007. Williams finished 24 of 34 for 247 yards with no turnovers against a Seattle defense that came in allowing the fewest passing yards in the league.
Cairo Santos added field goals of 44 and 38 yards, and Swift scored from the 1 in the third quarter for a 20-9 lead. Seattle then made it a game. Andre Booker blocked a Jason Myers field goal early in the fourth, but DeMarcus Lawrence forced a Colston Loveland fumble on the next series, and Sam Darnold hit Cooper Kupp for a 7-yard touchdown. Tory Horton caught the two-point try, and it was 20-17 with 11:46 left.

Chicago answered with a 5-yard Swift touchdown. On Seattle's next drive, J. Lynch picked off Darnold and returned it to the 6, and Swift scored from 5 yards out again to make it 34-17 with 4:41 to go.
Swift carried 27 times for 69 yards. ESPN says his 10 rushing touchdowns lead the NFL. Rome Odunze caught four passes for 87 yards, and Loveland and Burden each had seven catches. Chicago went 4 for 4 in the red zone.
Chicago's defense did the rest. Seattle converted one of 11 third downs and ran for 81 yards despite adding guard Quenton Nelson last week. ESPN tracked Seattle at 3.0 yards per play with Simmons on the field and 13.3 with him off.
Injuries: Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams left in the second half with a stinger and did not return.
What's next: The Bears host Tampa Bay next Sunday night. Seattle (4-4) hosts Arizona.
