  • Chad Ryland kicked a 42-yard field goal with 2:53 left in overtime, and the Arizona Cardinals beat the Dallas Cowboys 33-30 on Sunday in Arlington, minutes after Ryland pushed the extra point that would have won it in regulation wide left.

  • Dallas never trailed until that final kick. James Mitchell recovered a fumble in the end zone in the first quarter, Dak Prescott threw a 9-yard touchdown to Ryan Flournoy, and Prescott ran in from 5 yards early in the fourth for a 24-10 lead. Brandon Aubrey added field goals of 35 and 41 yards in the last four minutes.

Arizona kept answering. Gardner Minshew replaced an ineffective Jacoby Brissett in the third quarter, and Tyler Allgeier broke a 63-yard touchdown run, the longest of his career. Minshew then hit Allgeier for a 5-yard touchdown and Trey McBride for 14 yards. Down 30-24, the Cardinals took over with 1:05 left and went 80 yards in eight plays, tying it when Minshew hit Michael Wilson for 14 yards with 6 seconds to play. Ryland, who had made his previous 58 extra points, missed the kick.

  • The AP says Arizona is the third team since 2000 to miss a go-ahead extra point in the final 10 seconds of regulation, and the first two lost in overtime. This one didn't. Dallas went three-and-out with a chance to win in overtime, and Arizona drove for Ryland's winner.

Minshew went 17 of 23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Brissett was 10 of 23 for 119 yards with an interception. Allgeier ran for 147 yards on 11 carries and caught five passes for 44 yards, and he was the only healthy Arizona running back by the end after rookie Jeremiyah Love left with another ankle injury and Bam Knight was ruled out with a concussion. Wilson caught eight passes for 111 yards and McBride seven for 72.

Prescott completed 19 of 29 passes for 195 yards and was sacked four times. Javonte Williams needed 24 carries for 56 yards, and Dallas had 261 total yards to Arizona's 467. The Cowboys lost rookie safety Caleb Downs to a concussion and tight end Jake Ferguson to an ankle injury.

  • Arizona (3-5) has beaten Dallas five straight times and is 5-0 all time at AT&T Stadium. Dallas falls to 3-5.

What's next: The Cardinals visit Seattle next Sunday. The Cowboys play at Indianapolis.
