  • Jared Goff threw a 7-yard touchdown pass to Jameson Williams with 4:35 left, and the Detroit Lions beat the Minnesota Vikings 19-15 on Sunday, handing the league's last unbeaten team its first loss. Minnesota had not lost since Nov. 30, 2025, at Seattle, according to the AP recap on ESPN.

  • Minnesota had just taken a 15-12 lead on Kyler Murray's 8-yard touchdown pass to T.J. Hockenson and a two-point throw to Jordan Addison. Detroit answered on the next drive, and the Vikings' defense, the stingiest in the league coming in, could not get the stop.

Jahmyr Gibbs carried the Lions with 153 yards on 23 carries, including a 30-yard touchdown run in the third quarter in which he broke tackles on the way in. Detroit ran for 230 yards and held the ball for 35:43. Goff completed 18 of 25 passes for 176 yards with the touchdown and his first interception of the season.

  • The Lions made it harder on themselves early. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Williams both drew taunting penalties that stalled the first two drives, and a St. Brown touchdown catch was overturned on review. Jake Bates kicked field goals of 25 and 37 yards but hit the left upright from 46 early in the third. Justin Jefferson gave Minnesota a 7-3 lead with a one-handed 1-yard catch, and cornerback D.J. Reed made a diving interception in front of Addison late in the first half.

  • Murray went 17 of 29 for 210 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Addison had a 51-yard catch among his three for 66 yards, and Hockenson caught four for 58. Minnesota ran for only 81 yards, and coach Kevin O'Connell's decision to go for it on fourth-and-5 from the Detroit 25 in the second half ended with an incompletion and no points.

The win cost Detroit. Linebacker Jack Campbell was put on a backboard, carted off in the fourth quarter and taken to a hospital with a neck injury, per the AP. Coach Dan Campbell said afterward the team had no new information. Safety Brian Branch and edge rusher DJ Wonnum were evaluated for concussions after colliding in the second quarter and did not return.

  • Detroit (5-2) has won three straight, including its first two NFC North games. Minnesota falls to 6-1.
