  • The Milwaukee Brewers start right-hander Dustin May in Game 4 of the World Series tonight at Tropicana Field, one win from sweeping the Tampa Bay Rays for the first championship in franchise history. First pitch is 8 p.m. ET on Fox, and the Rays counter with right-hander Griffin Jax.

  • May is the opener in what ESPN described as a bullpen game. He threw a scoreless inning in Milwaukee's 5-4 win in Game 2 but has a 5.63 ERA over eight innings in four postseason appearances, and went 7-9 with a 4.70 ERA during the regular season. Jax has not pitched since Oct. 15, in the ALCS against Cleveland. ESPN's Jeff Passan noted that all of Milwaukee's high-leverage relievers are working on at least two days of rest, which gives manager Pat Murphy room to chase matchups early.

Milwaukee got here with one of the strangest innings in World Series history. The Brewers scored eight runs with two outs in the fifth inning Monday, on a postseason-record seven straight hits, and won 10-1, according to the Associated Press. Jackson Chourio went 4 for 5 and has eight hits in the series. Rookie left-hander Robert Gasser faced the minimum through six innings, the first starter to do that in a World Series game since Curt Schilling in 2001. The win was Milwaukee's eighth straight, tying the record for a single postseason.

  • The Rays are back to their regular lineup. Jonathan Aranda returns at first base and Liam Hicks catches after both sat Monday for platoon reasons, with Yandy Diaz leading off as the designated hitter. Milwaukee keeps Chourio at the top and Christian Yelich third.

History is not on Tampa Bay's side. Of the 43 teams that fell behind 3-0 in a best-of-seven postseason series before this one, only the 2004 Red Sox came back. DraftKings lists Milwaukee as a -121 favorite with a total of 7.

What to watch: A sweep would make the Brewers the first team since the 1976 Reds to sweep both the LCS and the World Series. If Tampa Bay wins, Game 5 is Wednesday at the Trop.
