Andrew Novak won the VidantaWorld Mexico Open on Sunday, closing with a 2-under 69 for a five-shot win and the first individual title of his PGA Tour career.
Novak finished at 25 under, a tournament scoring record, according to Golf Channel and GOLF.com. He shot 67, 61, 62 and 69 at Vidanta Vallarta, per the official leaderboard. The five-shot margin was the largest in the event's history, Golf Channel reported.
Sunday was slower than the two days before it. Novak made eight pars on the front nine and a bogey at the par-4 10th. "I played really well on the front but I didn't get much out of it, the putter was a little off," Novak told Golf Channel. "10 was a mistake, three terrible shots in a row." He birdied the par-5 12th to get back to a four-shot lead over Doug Ghim, then birdied 13 and 14, the last from 44 feet, to go up by six.

Steven Fisk and Kristoffer Ventura each shot bogey-free 63s and tied for second at 20 under. Ghim made double bogey on the 18th and dropped to 18 under. Mackenzie Hughes and Ben Griffin tied for fourth at 19 under.
Griffin was waiting for Novak at the 18th green. The two won the Zurich Classic together in 2025, the first Tour win for each, and now both have individual titles, the PGA Tour noted. "Obviously I love the Zurich and everything about that tournament but it's nice to have one by myself," said Novak, 31.
The win also moved Novak from 89th to 53rd in the FedExCup Fall standings. Players who stay in the top 60 get into the first two signature events next season. Ventura jumped from 108th to 76th, which Golf Channel said will secure his card for 2027, and Hughes climbed from 118th to 101st, one spot outside the top 100 who keep their cards.
What's next: Hughes said he has three events left to get inside the top 100, and Novak heads into the offseason with a spot in next year's first two signature events within reach.
