Wednesday's East Coast baseball slate included a 1-0 Fenway shutout, a four-homer Yankees win, two Baltimore victories in one day, and Atlanta's extra-inning walk-off. Milwaukee reached 99 wins, while Texas lost a late tie on a home run by former Ranger Marcus Semien. Each result has its own game report below.
Game reports
- Gray and Boston bullpen blank Guardians 1-0. Monasterio scored the only run; Gray worked six scoreless innings.
- Semien breaks tie before Baty slam seals Mets win. Texas tied it in the fifth, then its former infielder homered in the eighth.
- McMahon slam and two Rice homers lift Yankees. New York scored seven runs in the first three innings against Tampa Bay.
- Alonso homer sends Orioles past Blue Jays in Game 1. The afternoon result eliminated Toronto from postseason contention.
- Encarnacion-Strand and Gibson finish Baltimore sweep. Gibson gave the Orioles 6 2/3 scoreless innings in the nightcap.
- Dubón walks off Reds as Sale reaches 200 strikeouts. Atlanta tied the game twice before Dubón won it in the 10th.
- Turang and Yelich power Brewers to 99th win. Milwaukee hit two early homers and protected a 4-1 lead.
Boston needed only one run to stop Cleveland's six-game streak. Baltimore's two 4-2 victories had different decisive performances: Pete Alonso's homer in the opener, then Trey Gibson's scoreless start in the nightcap. Philadelphia could not turn its baserunners into runs against Milwaukee, and the Yankees made their own lead comfortable by the third inning.
The two late West Coast games in Los Angeles and Seattle were still in progress at this East Coast check and belong to the later final-results pass. Their outcomes are not included as verified finals here.
