Thursday's late MLB finals: Padres clinch, Angels rally, Spence powers Astros
Three separate September 24 West Coast games produced a postseason clinch, a comeback in Seattle and a three-homer rookie night.

Thursday's late baseball slate produced three different stories. San Diego clinched a postseason berth in Los Angeles, the Angels recovered from an early deficit in Seattle, and Houston won in West Sacramento behind Lucas Spence's first three major league home runs. Each final has its own verified game report.
- Padres 4, Dodgers 2: San Diego clinches a postseason berth. A three-run seventh inning opened the margin after a long scoreless start. Nick Pivetta and Tyler Glasnow kept the game tight before San Diego's contact hits changed it.
- Angels 6, Mariners 4: Christian Moore and Bryce Teodosio lead the response. Seattle led 4-1, but Moore's two-run double in the sixth gave Los Angeles a lead it kept.
- Astros 7, Athletics 5: Lucas Spence hits his first three MLB homers. The rookie drove in five runs, including insurance in the ninth, as Houston stayed in the AL West race.
The linked reports include the inning sequences, individual lines and official game video. This collection groups those three completed games for the morning reader; it does not recast any of them as a fourth result. The Padres know they are in the postseason, while their final seed remains unsettled. Houston's division position also depends on the remaining regular-season games. The Angels' victory was a standalone comeback, not a clinch.
Friday brings the next games in each series. Those games need their own final scores before any result is reported.
