The Los Angeles Rams signed veteran inside linebacker Eric Kendricks to their practice squad Tuesday, adding an experienced option ahead of their Monday night game against Buffalo. The Rams announced the move through their official account and recorded it in their transaction ledger.
The destination matters for roster planning: this is a practice-squad signing, with no announced promotion to the 53-man roster or assignment to the starting defense. Kendricks joins Los Angeles after appearing in three regular-season games for San Francisco last year.
Kendricks, 34, has played for four other NFL teams. Minnesota selected him in the second round of the 2015 draft. He later played for the Chargers and Cowboys before joining San Francisco’s practice squad in November 2025.

NFL Trade Rumors reported that the 49ers elevated him three times and credited him with six tackles in those three regular-season appearances. His recent workload was therefore much smaller than during the established starting roles earlier in his career. The Rams’ signing does not by itself announce a return to that kind of workload.
Los Angeles enters Week 5 at 2-2 after beating Philadelphia 24-20 on Sunday. Its next game is against the Bills at SoFi Stadium on Monday, October 12. The official Rams schedule lists the kickoff at 5:15 p.m. Pacific, or 8:15 p.m. Eastern, on ESPN.
The addition gives the team time to work Kendricks into its preparations before that game. Whether he becomes available on game day will require a further roster decision. Los Angeles has not announced a starting position, snap share or injury replacement associated with Tuesday’s move.
Kendricks gives Los Angeles another experienced linebacker option for the week ahead. The Rams’ next roster announcements will establish whether the veteran joins the active group for the Bills game.
