
Hurts, Shough and Smack deliver late wins across Sunday’s early NFL window
Philadelphia, New Orleans and Green Bay survive close finishes; Carolina, Cincinnati, New England and Minnesota also win. Cleveland–Tampa Bay remains delayed.

Jalen Hurts rescued Philadelphia with nine seconds left, Tyler Shough led New Orleans back from an eight-point deficit, and Green Bay needed overtime to escape the Jets. Sunday’s early NFL window produced three close finishes alongside decisive wins for Carolina, Cincinnati and New England.
Seven of the eight early games had verified final scores at this update. Cleveland led Tampa Bay 23-19, but that game remained delayed with two minutes left in the fourth quarter. Its score is not included among the final results below.
Eagles 24, Titans 20
Hurts found Darius Cooper for the winning touchdown after Tennessee took a late lead. The Eagles had led 14-10 at halftime and 17-10 in the third quarter, then needed one final drive after Tennessee moved in front.

Saints 24, Ravens 17
New Orleans trailed 17-9 before Shough’s 21-yard touchdown pass to Chris Olave and Travis Etienne Jr.’s two-point conversion tied the game. Shough then scored on fourth-and-goal with 1:28 left. Julian Blackmon intercepted Lamar Jackson on Baltimore’s last possession to end the threat.
The Saints’ first lead was enough. They moved to 1-1, matching Baltimore’s record, after an afternoon in which their late drives and defensive stops reversed the Ravens’ early advantage. Read the Saints–Ravens recap.
Packers 20, Jets 17, overtime
Trey Smack’s 26-yard field goal ended Green Bay’s comeback from a 17-7 fourth-quarter deficit. A Christian Watson touchdown, Skyy Moore’s 63-yard punt return and Smack’s tying kick got the Packers to overtime. Their defense then sacked Geno Smith on consecutive plays before the winning drive.
Green Bay earned its first victory but left with injury concerns after Jayden Reed and Zach Bako-Bewele were carted off early. Read the Packers–Jets recap.
Bengals 20, Texans 6
Ja’Marr Chase caught both Cincinnati touchdowns, and the Bengals held Houston out of the end zone despite C.J. Stroud’s 353 passing yards. Chase’s first score followed a fourth-down stop by Dexter Lawrence II that denied Houston a scoring opportunity. Cincinnati is 2-0; Houston is 0-2. Read the Bengals–Texans recap.
Panthers 34, Falcons 3
Bryce Young threw three touchdown passes as Carolina controlled Atlanta on both sides of the ball. The Panthers rebounded from their opening loss with a division road win, while the Falcons struggled to turn possession into points. Read the Panthers–Falcons recap.
Patriots 20, Steelers 3
TreVeyon Henderson’s 39-yard touchdown run marked his return to the lineup. New England’s defense kept Pittsburgh out of the end zone, added a touchdown of its own and intercepted Aaron Rodgers. Read the Patriots–Steelers recap.
Vikings 9, Bears 3
Minnesota won a low-scoring game in which Bears quarterback Caleb Williams left with a hamstring injury. The Bears edition has the full Minnesota–Chicago recap.
