Bermuda. On the PGA Tour, Chandler Blanchet and Kensei Hirata share the lead at 13-under 129 after two rounds of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal. Blanchet, who opened with a 62, shot 67 on Friday and birdied the 18th from a blind, above-his-feet lie, hitting his wedge to 5 feet. Hirata, a PGA Tour rookie who had never held a share of the lead after any round, played bogey-free for a 64.
Five players are one shot back at 12 under: 2022 Bermuda winner Seamus Power, Corey Conners, Eric Cole, Ben Silverman and Danny Walker. The cut fell at 5 under, and defending champion Adam Schenk missed it. Wind is Port Royal's main defense, and it had not been at full strength through two rounds. Stronger gusts were forecast for the weekend.
Blanchet came into the week No. 114 in the FedEx Cup Fall standings and Power No. 103. Bermuda is one of five events left for players trying to finish in the top 100 and keep full status for 2027.
