  • The Dodgers and Rays earned places in the League Championship Series on Wednesday, while the Guardians kept their Division Series alive. Los Angeles beat Atlanta 4-1 to close its series three games to one. Tampa Bay finished a three-game sweep of New York with a 4-3 win. Cleveland beat Chicago 9-3 to trim the White Sox’s lead to two games to one.

Three games are now final. Milwaukee–San Diego remained in progress when Tampa Bay’s win was confirmed, so this report leaves that fourth result open.

    Pages sends Los Angeles through

Andy Pages drove a full-count pitch from Robert Suarez into center in the seventh inning, scoring Teoscar Hernández and Tommy Edman to break a 1-1 tie. The inning began with Hernández's single; walks to Josue De Paula and Kyle Tucker filled the bases before Pages delivered with two outs.

  • Max Muncy added a solo homer in the ninth. Tyler Glasnow allowed one hit and one run in 4⅔ innings, though five walks gave Atlanta chances to answer. Four Dodgers relievers kept the Braves scoreless after Glasnow departed, and Edwin Díaz finished the game with an eight-pitch ninth inning.

The Braves collected three hits. Michael Harris II scored their only run on a first-inning wild pitch, and Los Angeles tied the game in the second with help from two Atlanta errors. The Dodgers now await the winner of Milwaukee's series against San Diego.

  • Cleveland gets another game

Jo Adell cleared the bases with a third-inning triple to give Cleveland a 4-1 lead. José Ramírez later doubled, stole third and scored on Chase DeLauter's grounder, then caught Miguel Vargas' liner with the bases loaded in the sixth.

Ramírez's two-run triple in the eighth created a 7-3 cushion, and Cleveland added two runs in the ninth. The Guardians finished with 11 hits and nine walks. Their pitchers struck out 19, including seven by Foster Griffin and five by Cade Smith.

  • The White Sox retain the series lead and another chance to clinch at home Thursday. Cleveland still faces elimination, but its offense produced nine runs after totaling three in the first two games.

Rays finish the sweep in the Bronx

Victor Mesa Jr. hit a two-run homer with two outs in the sixth to break a 2-2 tie. The Yankees appeared to answer with Anthony Volpe’s two-run shot in the bottom half, but replay ruled spectator interference and changed it to an RBI double. New York remained a run behind.

The one-run margin held through the ninth. Bryan Baker worked around a walk, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. stole second with two outs to put the tying run in scoring position. Baker struck out Trent Grisham swinging to end the game. Tampa Bay now awaits the winner of Cleveland–Chicago in the ALCS.

Rays starter Nick Martinez left in the fourth after a batted ball struck his back, according to Yahoo Sports’ Ryan Young. That report described the incident without a confirmed diagnosis. The Rays used five relievers after Martinez; the Yankees’ bullpen held Tampa Bay scoreless after Max Fried left in the sixth.
