Devin Booker scored 43 points on 17-of-25 shooting and the Phoenix Suns beat the Golden State Warriors 131-122 on Saturday night, winning their home opener for the fifth straight season, according to the Associated Press. Booker added seven rebounds and seven assists.
The NBA said the performance set a Suns record for a home opener, passing the 37 points Charles Barkley scored against the Los Angeles Clippers on Nov. 7, 1992. Booker scored 24 of his points after halftime, 17 of them in the third quarter.
Golden State was playing for the third time in four days and rested several regulars. Stephen Curry (right knee), Brandin Podziemski (low back), Draymond Green (low back) and Al Horford (low back) all sat, the AP said. The Warriors are 0-3 for the first time in 19 years.
