Brandon Aiyuk owes the 49ers about $13 million as he reports Friday

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero says bonus forfeiture could complicate the release Aiyuk wants. Agent Drew Rosenhaus told Adam Schefter the meeting at the facility is set for 3 p.m. ET.

  • Brandon Aiyuk still plans to report to the San Francisco 49ers on Friday, but the money between him and the club is no longer a side note. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Thursday night that Aiyuk owes the 49ers roughly $13 million in bonus forfeiture, which could slow any effort to force a release by showing up at the facility.

  • NBC Sports Bay Area's Matt Maiocco wrote that a clean split on Friday looks unlikely because the 49ers can reclaim a large share of the $23 million signing bonus from Aiyuk's 2024 extension. The team's NBC Sports account summarized that the forfeiture figure is about $13 million and could delay the release Aiyuk wants.

  • Friday's meeting

Aiyuk's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told ESPN's Adam Schefter the plan is unchanged: "We will be there tomorrow at 3pm to meet with the team at the facility. We will put our best foot forward and go from there." Pelissero added that the NFL Management Council and the NFL Players Association are both involved in trying to sort out the dispute.

  • Aiyuk filed for reinstatement earlier this week and has said he is healthy enough to play. San Francisco has publicly treated him as done there, so Friday is less about a reunion than about paperwork, leverage and how much of the bonus the club can claw back.
