  • AJ Dybantsa scored 19 points in his NBA debut on Wednesday night, but the Cleveland Cavaliers came back from 13 down to beat the Washington Wizards 121-111.

Dybantsa, the No. 1 pick in June's draft, had missed Washington's first four games with a sprained ankle, the Associated Press said. He started at shooting guard and went 8 of 12 from the field, 1 of 3 from 3-point range and 2 of 2 at the line.

  • He was the story early. Dybantsa scored nine points in the first quarter, which Sportradar says is the most by a Wizards rookie in his debut since at least the 1996-97 season, according to the AP. Washington scored 42 points in the first quarter and led 69-59 at halftime. Dybantsa's alley-oop dunk off a pass from Kyshawn George made it 76-63 early in the third.

  • Cleveland took over from there. The Cavaliers outscored Washington 62-42 in the second half, and Evan Mobley's layup with 11:19 left gave them a 94-92 lead, their first since late in the first quarter. The Wizards went back ahead 105-104 before Cleveland scored nine straight points to put it away.

Mobley finished with 24 points and 12 rebounds. He went 5 of 6 from 3-point range, a career high for made threes, and scored 10 points in the fourth quarter. Peyton Watson, acquired from Denver in the offseason, added 22 points and six rebounds. Donovan Mitchell had 19 points and seven assists, and James Harden scored 16 on 5-of-18 shooting.

Washington had plenty of scoring. Anthony Davis and Alex Sarr scored 18 apiece, with Sarr adding four steals, and Bilal Coulibaly scored 17 after making his first eight shots. George had 11 assists. Trae Young shot 3 of 12 and finished with 14 points. The Wizards scored 66 points in the paint but went 8 of 32 from 3-point range and were outrebounded 47-27, the ESPN box score shows.

  • Cleveland has won three straight since blowing a 29-point lead and losing its opener at Philadelphia, and it is 3-1. The win was the Cavaliers' 17th in a row over Washington, the longest active streak in the league, according to the AP. The Wizards are 2-3.

The Cavaliers play at Atlanta on Thursday night. Washington hosts Charlotte on Friday night.
