Jacob Harris took a Colton Joseph pass 72 yards for the winning touchdown with 1:13 left, and Wisconsin beat Penn State 24-20 on Saturday in State College. The Badgers had trailed 17-0 in the second quarter and still faced a 20-10 deficit late in the third. Their final two possessions produced two touchdowns, turning a long comeback into a road win in the Big Ten opener.
ESPN's official drive chart shows how fast the last swing came. Wisconsin went 75 yards in 10 plays to cut the deficit to 20-17 on Joseph's 11-yard touchdown pass to Eugene Hilton Jr. with 3:31 remaining. Penn State gained six yards on its next series and punted with 2:28 left. Joseph then moved the Badgers 85 yards in six plays. On the final scoring play, he found Harris over the middle; the 72-yard catch and run put Wisconsin ahead for the first time. Penn State's last drive ended when a fourth-down throw to the end zone fell incomplete.
The early game had pointed in the opposite direction. Ryan Barker opened the scoring with a 22-yard field goal for Penn State. Josiah Zayas then returned a Joseph interception 51 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter. Rocco Becht's 3-yard touchdown run pushed the Nittany Lions' advantage to 17-0. Joseph answered with a 7-yard run before halftime, Gavin Lahm hit a 34-yard field goal in the third, and Barker's second field goal restored Penn State's 10-point cushion. Wisconsin did not take the lead until Harris's late score.

Joseph's line shows both the difficulty and the recovery. He completed 18 of 38 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions, according to the game box score. Harris led Wisconsin with five catches for 105 yards. Darrion Dupree added 52 rushing yards and 44 receiving yards. Becht finished 12 of 29 for 114 yards with an interception, and Penn State gained 233 total yards to Wisconsin's 355. The Badgers turned the ball over three times, yet their defense repeatedly gave Joseph another possession.
The fourth-quarter stops were as important as the long winner. After one Joseph interception with 8:09 left, Penn State went three plays for minus one yard and punted. After Hilton's touchdown, the Nittany Lions again failed to keep the chains moving. Wisconsin's defense limited Penn State to 12 first downs for the game, while the Badgers had 18. This was not a clean offensive performance from Wisconsin, but it was a complete late recovery: one drive made the game close, one defensive stop returned the ball, and Harris's long touchdown finished it.
The Wisconsin game center identifies the matchup as the Badgers' Big Ten opener at No. 13 Penn State. The final result ended Penn State's unbeaten start and gave Wisconsin a conference road win built around two fourth-quarter touchdown passes.
