The Golden State Valkyries beat the Atlanta Dream 67-62 on Saturday afternoon in Atlanta and tied the WNBA Finals at two games apiece. Gabby Williams led Golden State with 17 points, five rebounds and three assists, and the series now goes back to San Francisco for Game 5 on Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
Golden State had lost Games 2 and 3 by a combined 40 points, according to ESPN. Coach Natalie Nakase changed her starting lineup, moving Kaila Charles and Tiffany Hayes in for Cecilia Zandalasini and Kayla Thornton. Hayes scored 13 and Charles finished plus-14. Zandalasini still scored 10 off the bench and was plus-20.
The Valkyries took control in the first half. They forced 14 Dream turnovers before halftime, turned them into 16 points and led by as many as 16, Atlanta's largest deficit of the postseason, ESPN reported. At the break, Golden State had taken 40 shots to Atlanta's 19.

Atlanta opened the third quarter on a 14-4 run and cut the lead to single digits, and Rhyne Howard's and-one made it 66-61 in the final minute. Veronica Burton had already answered with a basket for a 66-59 lead with under 40 seconds left. Burton finished with 13 points, five assists, three steals and two blocks, though she shot 4 for 17.
Stokes did most of the work on Angel Reese. Reese went 2 for 12 for eight points with nine rebounds and six turnovers, and ESPN said Stokes held her to 2 of 10 as the primary defender. Stokes finished with four points, 16 rebounds and three blocks, her fourth straight Finals game with at least three blocks, a WNBA record.
Howard led all scorers with 19 points and eight rebounds. Atlanta shot 33% from the field, went 4 for 23 from 3-point range and made 22 of 31 free throws. Golden State was not much better from outside at 4 for 25, but it outscored the Dream 38-28 in the paint and took 18 more shots.
"Now it's a best-of-three series," Stokes told ESPN.
Golden State has home court for Game 5 and, if needed, Game 7. Game 6 is scheduled for Thursday in Atlanta, but ESPN reported the venue is unsettled because the Hawks host Cleveland at State Farm Arena that night.
