  • Tyler Shough needed one yard to finish the drive that changed New Orleans’ afternoon. The Saints kept their offense on the field on fourth-and-goal, Shough scored on a sneak with 1:28 remaining, and New Orleans completed a 24-17 comeback victory over Baltimore on Sunday.

The touchdown gave the Saints their first lead. The ruling stood after review, leaving Lamar Jackson one final opportunity to answer. New Orleans had spent much of the game chasing Baltimore; now its defense could close out a win.

  • Shough completed 27 of 34 passes for 252 yards, one passing touchdown and no interceptions. He also ran for 23 yards and the deciding score. Chris Olave caught eight passes for 86 yards, including the touchdown that brought New Orleans back within a conversion of tying the game.

  • A lead Baltimore could not extend

The Ravens had built a 14-3 advantage behind Derrick Henry’s short touchdown run and Jackson’s 22-yard scoring pass to Rashod Bateman. New Orleans stayed close enough to keep playing its normal offense, getting field goals from Daniel Carlson before and after halftime.

Tyler Loop’s 49-yard field goal made it 17-9 in the third quarter. Baltimore then forced a punt with sacks by Trey Hendrickson and Mike Green, giving its offense the ball near midfield and an opportunity to push the lead beyond one score.

That possession went backward. The Saints forced a punt, and Shough led the response: a 21-yard touchdown pass to Olave with 9:42 left. After a Baltimore penalty moved the conversion closer to the goal line, Travis Etienne Jr. ran in the two-point attempt to tie it at 17.

  • The Ravens went three-and-out again. New Orleans took over at its own 32 with 8:06 remaining and turned its next possession into the game’s decisive stretch. The Saints converted third and fourth downs, kept Jackson on the sideline and reached the goal line before trusting Shough to finish.

    Blackmon ends the final chance

Baltimore reached the Saints’ 37 on its last possession, but Julian Blackmon intercepted Jackson’s downfield throw with 13 seconds remaining. The pick secured New Orleans’ first victory of the season and left both teams at 1-1.

  • Jackson finished with 235 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception. Bateman led Baltimore with seven catches for 88 yards, while Henry added 68 rushing yards and a score. The Ravens had enough early production to establish control, but their empty possessions late in the third and early in the fourth allowed the Saints back into the game.

New Orleans won despite a modest 65 rushing yards and the loss of left tackle Kelvin Banks Jr. to an ankle injury. Baltimore played without receiver Zay Flowers and lost Ronnie Stanley during the game with a toe issue. Those injuries remain part of the follow-up, but Sunday’s result was settled by the Saints’ sustained final touchdown drive and the stop that followed it.
