The Titans added guard Chandler Zavala, linebacker Chase Wilson and defensive back Derrick Canteen to their practice squad Tuesday, while waiving Nick Broeker, Owen Pappoe and Jalen McMurray from that unit. Tennessee announced the six moves ahead of Sunday's home game against Houston.
Zavala brings the most established NFL playing experience among the additions. The former Carolina fourth-round pick has appeared in 34 career games with 14 starts at guard, according to the Titans. He played college football at Fairmont State and N.C. State.
His arrival follows last week's changes to Tennessee's interior offensive line. The Titans placed guards Fernando Carmona Jr. and Jackson Slater on injured reserve September 29 and promoted Garrett Dellinger from the practice squad to the active roster. Broeker joined the practice squad that same day. Tuesday's announcement replaces him with Zavala on the developmental roster; it does not announce another change to the starting line.

Wilson initially entered the NFL with the Jets as an undrafted free agent after the 2026 draft. He played at West Virginia and Colorado State. Tennessee's linebacker move pairs his addition with Pappoe's departure. The team had brought Pappoe back to its practice squad September 29 after waiving him three days earlier.
Canteen returns to a familiar organization. He spent time with Tennessee during training camp and was on the Titans' practice squad last year. He originally joined San Francisco as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 draft, after college stops at Georgia Southern, Virginia Tech and Cincinnati. McMurray is the defensive back leaving the practice squad in Tuesday's moves.
All three additions are practice-squad signings. Tennessee has not announced an active-roster promotion or game-day elevation for any of them as part of this transaction package.
The Titans and Texans enter their AFC South matchup at 0-4. Tennessee lost 24-18 at Baltimore on Sunday, while Houston fell 34-30 to Dallas. Their Week 5 game is scheduled for Sunday, October 11, at Nissan Stadium, with kickoff at 1 p.m. Eastern and regional coverage on CBS.
