  • The development was reported in a 2-minute, 50-second update from Pablo Torre Finds Out, uploaded Sept. 26. Torre said Tebow had spoken at 44 Life Surge events over several years and had been scheduled for more than 20 appearances in 2026. The video also includes a recording from a 2023 event in which Tebow encouraged attendees who had signed up for classes to follow through on that commitment.

The allegations came from a Sept. 24 investigation by Pablo Torre Finds Out and Mother Jones. The reporting examined Life Surge's one-day events and complaints from attendees who said they were pressured toward expensive financial training. The Washington Post, citing the investigation, reported that the programs presented at events ranged from $10,000 to $40,000 and that people who could not afford them were reportedly directed toward outside financing. Those claims remain allegations.

  • Tebow told reporters that the allegations were “extremely, extremely serious,” that his team was conducting an investigation and that he wanted to learn more about the facts. He said he was caught off guard when his team showed him the reporting while he was traveling to an event in Alabama. His stated purpose at Life Surge events, he said, was to share his Christian faith.

Life Surge says it rejects the characterization in the reporting. In a Sept. 25 statement, the company said it stands behind its people and mission, and said the experiences of many students differed from the reporting's account. It also said Tebow's team was reviewing the allegations and that it respected his decision to pause the relationship.

Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla also responded to the reporting. He told the Boston Globe he ended his Life Surge relationship and withdrew from an October speaking appearance; that development is already covered in Beat Chuck's Celtics report.
