Friday's college football schedule has three games worth tracking before Saturday's heavier slate. No. 5 Miami visits Wake Forest at 7:30 p.m. Eastern on ESPN, No. 22 Houston visits No. 13 Texas Tech at 8 p.m. on FOX, and Portland State visits No. 21 Oregon at 10:30 p.m. on the Big Ten Network.
The Miami-Wake Forest game is the early ranked matchup. Miami enters the week with a national ranking and a road test against an ACC opponent, while Wake Forest gets the home setting and the chance to change the shape of the conference race. The 7:30 start gives the game the first national window of the night.
Houston-Texas Tech is the other game with two ranked teams. Texas Tech has the ranking and home field, but Houston's visit gives the Big 12 an immediate test of whether the Cougars can stay in the league's upper tier. The game starts at 8 p.m. Eastern on FOX.

Oregon closes the night against Portland State at 10:30 p.m. on BTN. The Ducks are ranked No. 21, making the late game a chance to measure how they handle a lower-division opponent before the weekend's conference games.
The NCAA schedule lists all three matchups, start times and networks. Saturday's Notre Dame-Michigan State game remains the weekend's local story, while Friday supplies a compact national lead-in with two ranked-versus-ranked games and a late Oregon kickoff.
