Texas State answered an early Incarnate Word touchdown with five straight scores and beat the Cardinals 63-10 Saturday at UFCU Stadium. Brad Jackson threw five touchdown passes before halftime, and the Bobcats combined explosive throws with a 338-yard rushing game. Incarnate Word matched the first touchdown to make it 7-7; the next 35 points belonged to Texas State. The Bobcats improved to 2-2, while the Cardinals fell to 2-2.
Jackson started with a 63-yard pass to Beau Sparks. Emmett Brown responded with a 32-yard touchdown throw to Roy Alexander, but Texas State regained the lead on Jackson’s 10-yard pass to Jordan Martin. He added a six-yard score to Davian Jackson before Torrance Burgess Jr. broke a 46-yard touchdown run. That made it 28-7 by the end of the first quarter. In the second, Jackson found Chris Dawn Jr. for a six-yard score and Zechariah Sample for a 69-yard touchdown. Incarnate Word’s 23-yard Nick Rigas field goal at the half was its final scoring play.
Texas State did not score in the third quarter, but it finished with three fourth-quarter touchdowns. Gavin Parkhurst connected with La’Keyleon Graves for 49 yards. Juntavious Harris ran 45 yards for a score, and Dameon Crowe returned a punt 77 yards for the final touchdown. Those late plays stretched a game already decided by the first-half separation.

The live ESPN box score lists Jackson at 17 completions in 20 attempts, 244 passing yards and five touchdowns. Burgess ran nine times for 140 yards and one touchdown. Texas State amassed 658 yards in all, split between 320 passing and 338 rushing, and converted 10 of 14 third downs. It had 25 first downs to Incarnate Word’s 23, but the Bobcats’ larger plays turned that possession count into a much wider score.
Incarnate Word gained 358 yards, so the Cardinals moved the ball at times. Brown finished 24 of 44 for 242 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Cardinals converted six of 20 third downs and committed two turnovers. Texas State had one giveaway. The early Alexander touchdown showed that the visitors could answer once; the next five scoring drives showed they could not keep pace.
The Texas State preview identified this as a home game against Incarnate Word during the Bobcats’ first season in the Pac-12. That context should not be confused with a conference result: this was a nonconference matchup. The final score and player totals come from the verified game record, without assuming what either coach said afterward.
