  • Scottie Scheffler will face Nico Echavarria in Sunday singles at the Presidents Cup, with the International Team carrying a 10.5-7.5 lead into the final 12 matches at Medinah. Scheffler tees off at 12:38 p.m. Eastern, fourth in a lineup that begins with Ryo Hisatsune against Cameron Young at 12:02 p.m. The full draw and tee times were announced Saturday night.

The order gives the U.S. several early chances to cut into the deficit. Wyndham Clark faces Tom Kim in the second match, followed by Justin Thomas against Corey Conners. Conners helped preserve the International lead with Nick Taylor in Saturday's final foursomes match, as detailed in our Saturday recap. Sunday, each player is on his own.

Scheffler's assignment comes after U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker sat him for Saturday afternoon foursomes. Snedeker said he wanted Scheffler rested for singles, according to GOLF.com's reporting from Medinah. Echavarria is a Presidents Cup rookie. Their match is one of 12 individual points available, and its result alone cannot erase a three-point team gap.

  • The middle of the lineup offers more established names. Hideki Matsuyama meets Collin Morikawa at 1:14 p.m., and Adam Scott faces Patrick Cantlay 12 minutes later. Si Woo Kim plays U.S. rookie Jackson Koivun at 1:38 p.m. Taylor and Russell Henley meet again in the penultimate match, this time as singles opponents, before Ryan Fox and Xander Schauffele go out last at 2:14 p.m.

The official scoring page lists 15.5 points as the winning threshold. Starting from 10.5, Geoff Ogilvy's International side needs five points Sunday for an outright win. Snedeker's U.S. team needs eight. A split of six points apiece would deliver the Cup to the Internationals; a 7.5-4.5 U.S. Sunday session would leave the overall competition tied at 15-15.

NBC and Peacock begin coverage at noon Eastern, according to the broadcaster's schedule. The first tee times should show whether the Americans can make the late matches matter, or whether the International lead holds long enough for a first Cup victory since 1998. Until a team reaches the threshold, the result remains open.
