  • Jamal Roberts supplied 222 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Missouri’s defense kept Texas A&M out of the end zone in a 27–6 win Saturday in Columbia. The 14th-ranked Tigers improved to 5–1 overall and 2–1 in the SEC; the Aggies slipped to 3–3 and 1–3.

Roberts carried 34 times, taking on most of the work in a Missouri attack that accumulated 252 rushing yards. His first touchdown came on a two-yard run at the end of the third quarter. His second was the finishing blow: a 54-yard run with 2:49 remaining that stretched a 20–6 lead to the final margin.

Missouri had established its advantage before those runs. Austin Simmons connected with Cayden Lee for a 32-yard touchdown early in the second quarter, wiping out Texas A&M’s opening field-goal lead. Blake Craig then made field goals from 50 and 51 yards, one on either side of halftime, to put the Tigers ahead 13–3.

  • Roberts’ short scoring run made it 20–3 as the third quarter expired. Texas A&M cut the deficit with David Olano’s second field goal, a 27-yarder, but never produced the touchdown it needed to turn the final period into a close finish.

  • The Aggies’ last meaningful chance came on a possession that reached the Missouri 43. Four straight incompletions ended that drive on downs with just over three minutes left. Two Roberts carries later, the Tigers had added another touchdown and removed most of the remaining suspense.

Missouri’s defensive numbers explain why the offense could lean so heavily on Roberts. Texas A&M finished with 216 total yards and only 29 rushing yards. Marcel Reed completed 19 of 39 passes for 187 yards, threw two interceptions and was held without a touchdown pass. Missouri recorded three sacks, according to the independent 1821 Sports report and final statistical record.

  • Simmons finished 14 of 28 for 147 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. Lee caught seven passes for 94 yards and the Tigers’ lone passing touchdown. It was a much less productive passing afternoon than Missouri’s previous game, but the Tigers did not need a repeat of that performance to control this one.

Olano accounted for all six Texas A&M points, also making a 53-yard field goal in the first quarter. The Aggies return home to face The Citadel on October 17, according to their official recap. Missouri’s combination of sustained rushing production and red-zone resistance delivered a conference win without requiring Simmons to dominate through the air.
