Jordan Hawkins and the Memphis Grizzlies have mutually agreed to part ways, ESPN's Shams Charania reported Friday night, putting the former lottery pick on course to seek another team once he clears waivers. The report comes less than a month after New Orleans traded him to Memphis.
No new team was identified in Charania's report.
Memphis acquired Hawkins and Micah Peavy in a deal that sent AJ Johnson and Taj Gibson to the Pelicans. New Orleans also sent a future second-round pick and a future second-round pick swap, according to the NBA's official trade announcement. That September move gave Hawkins a change of setting after three seasons with the team that drafted him.
