Tyler Smith remains limited in his return window, while Dallas lists three hamstring injuries as non-participants ahead of Tampa Bay.

DeMarvion Overshown remains a long shot to play Thursday against Tampa Bay, Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday. The linebacker was again listed as a non-participant with a hamstring injury, and Dallas reported no changes in its players' participation levels from Monday's walkthrough to Tuesday's light practice.
Tyler Smith remained limited as he works toward a potential season debut. Dallas opened the All-Pro guard's 21-day practice window Monday following the thumb injury that required surgery before the regular season. His return to practice gives the Cowboys an opportunity to evaluate him on a short week, but Tuesday's report did not establish that he will play.
Cornerback Cobie Durant and offensive tackle Drew Shelton also remained non-participants with hamstring injuries. Dallas has another practice-report day before Thursday's game. Overshown's outlook is the clearest public warning so far, while the final game-status decisions remain ahead.

Several other players carried injuries on the report while participating fully Tuesday. That group included CeeDee Lamb with a thigh injury, Joey Porter Jr. with an ankle injury, Malik Hooker with a forearm injury and James Houston with a shoulder injury. Alijah Clark and Tyler Goodson were also full participants, both listed with ankle injuries.
The report therefore presents different availability questions across the roster. Smith is taking limited practice work in his return window, while Overshown, Durant and Shelton remain outside team participation. A full practice listing for the other players describes their Tuesday workload; it does not replace the final injury designation or the game-day inactive list.
Tampa Bay's Tuesday injury report lists linebacker Josiah Trotter as a full participant with a knee injury, up from limited participation Monday. The Buccaneers' other Tuesday non-participants included quarterback Baker Mayfield, safety Antoine Winfield Jr., cornerback Benjamin Morrison and linebacker SirVocea Dennis.
Update: Tampa Bay's official Tuesday report lists Josiah Trotter as a full participant. An earlier version used the Cowboys' matchup report, which listed him as a non-participant.
Dallas hosts Tampa Bay at AT&T Stadium on Thursday, October 8, with kickoff at 8:15 p.m. Eastern on Prime Video. The Cowboys enter at 2-2 after Sunday's 34-30 win at Houston. Wednesday's report will provide the next scheduled update on who can help them through the quick turnaround.
