
Moulton runs for 208 yards as Iowa beats Washington 41-24
Hecklinski throws three touchdowns, and Iowa answers the Huskies’ second-half rally with another Moulton score.

Kamari Moulton ran for a career-high 208 yards and two touchdowns as No. 20 Iowa beat Washington 41-24 on Friday night in Seattle. Jeremy Hecklinski threw three touchdown passes, giving the Hawkeyes enough offense to build a 27-point lead and answer the Huskies' second-half push.
Iowa finished with 465 total yards, including 263 on the ground, and committed no turnovers. Moulton needed 26 carries for his 208 yards. Hecklinski completed 14 of 19 passes for 202 yards without an interception in his start for the injured Hank Brown.
The Hawkeyes established control before halftime. Caden Buhr made field goals from 51 and 27 yards, then Moulton broke loose for a 56-yard touchdown with 10 seconds left in the first quarter. That gave Iowa a 13-0 lead and set up a productive second quarter for Hecklinski.

He found DJ Vonnahme for touchdowns of 20 and 24 yards, extending the advantage to 27-0. Vonnahme finished with two catches for 44 yards, with both receptions reaching the end zone. Washington's 30-yard field goal late in the half left the score 27-3 at the break.
Washington also lost its starting quarterback before halftime. Demond Williams Jr. left for X-rays on his side and ribs after a third-down run, according to a team spokesman cited by ESPN's Adam Rittenberg. Elijah Brown took over and gave the Huskies a route back into the game.
Brown's 10-yard touchdown pass to Chris Lawson cut the deficit to 27-10 early in the third quarter. Iowa answered with Hecklinski's 8-yard scoring pass to Reece Vander Zee, who finished with three catches for 69 yards.
Washington kept pressing. Brown connected with Dezmen Roebuck from 2 yards, then found Lawson for the two-point conversion, making it 34-18 with 1:25 left in the third quarter.
Moulton supplied Iowa's decisive answer. His 3-yard touchdown at 12:06 of the fourth restored a 23-point lead. Braeden Jackson's 33-yard reception helped move the Hawkeyes into scoring position on that drive, the Register's live report noted.
Brown finished 28 of 39 for 251 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. His final touchdown went to Mason James from 3 yards with two seconds remaining. Lawson led Washington with eight catches for 86 yards, but the Huskies finished with minus-3 rushing yards and 317 total yards.
Iowa improves to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big Ten. Washington falls to 3-3 and 0-3 in conference play.
