Mike Ditka’s former Naples home paired a pool retreat with a separate den

Mike Ditka’s former North Naples home offered a quieter setting than the stadiums associated with his career: a screened pool, lake views and a separate den in a four-bedroom house. The property was sold in February 2025, so it belongs to the history of the Hall of Famer’s homes, rather than to a current listing.
The Chicago Bears confirmed on October 9, 2026 that Ditka’s family had announced his death at 86. That news provides an occasion to revisit the residence without turning an earlier transaction into a new sale or suggesting the house remains in his family’s ownership.
At 3,436 square feet, the Wilshire Lakes house combined four bedrooms with four bathrooms. Its den offered another enclosed room beyond the bedrooms, while the pool enclosure extended the home’s living possibilities outdoors. Homes.com’s January 2025 property report described a spa, privacy hedges, a kitchen breakfast bar and a three-car garage. Those are descriptions from the archived listing coverage, not observations from a new visit.

The outdoor arrangement is the useful design idea here. A screened pool creates a defined destination beside the house; lake views give that space an outlook beyond the enclosure. The den adds a different kind of retreat indoors. Together, those spaces suggest a home with several places to spend time, rather than one oversized room expected to serve every purpose.
The dated prices also matter. The house was marketed at $1.375 million in December 2024 and sold for $1.195 million on February 6, 2025, according to the sales table published by Naples Condo Boutique, a Premiere Plus Realty team. The difference between asking and closing prices was $180,000.
Listing agent Celeste Cunningham of John R. Wood Properties told Homes.com that the property attracted multiple offers and reached a contract within 12 days. That describes the period before closing; it does not make the asking price the final transaction amount.
For readers considering their own home layout, the enduring point is the combination of distinct indoor and outdoor retreats. Ditka’s connection gives the property its sports history, while its pool enclosure and den explain the appeal of the house itself.
