Nick Marsh turned two fourth-quarter catches into the touchdowns that kept Indiana unbeaten Saturday. The seventh-ranked Hoosiers rallied from 17–6 down to beat Nebraska 20–17 in Lincoln, with Josh Hoover’s 44-yard scoring pass on fourth-and-1 supplying the winning points with 7:13 remaining.
The result moved Indiana to 6–0 overall and 3–0 in the Big Ten. Nebraska, which had won its first five games, fell to 5–1 and 2–1. For much of the afternoon, the Cornhuskers had dictated a game that looked nothing like Indiana’s lopsided win in the teams’ previous meeting.
Anthony Colandrea appeared to have Nebraska in position to finish the job when he broke a 39-yard touchdown run with 12:01 left. The extra point pushed the home team’s advantage to 11 points. Indiana answered on its next offensive snap: Hoover connected with Marsh for a 75-yard touchdown that immediately reduced the deficit to four.

The Hoosiers then forced a punt and faced their decisive choice at the Nebraska 44. Rather than run into a crowded defensive front on fourth-and-1, Hoover found Marsh behind the coverage. The receiver completed the 44-yard play untouched, putting Indiana ahead for the first time.
Marsh’s two touchdowns arrived less than five minutes apart on the game clock, reversing a contest Nebraska had led since the opening quarter.
Those two plays accounted for 119 of Marsh’s 187 receiving yards. He finished with six catches and both Indiana touchdowns, while Hoover completed 12 of 22 passes for 263 yards without an interception. The explosive passing plays were essential because Nebraska had contained the Hoosiers’ usual rushing production.
Indiana managed 65 rushing yards on 22 attempts. Turbo Richard gained 10 yards on eight carries, and Lee Beebe Jr. had 31 on nine. The Hoosiers converted only one of ten third downs, but their one fourth-down attempt produced the touchdown that decided the game.
Nebraska had led 10–3 at halftime after a field goal and Nyziah Hunter’s 10-yard touchdown run. Nicolas Radicic’s second field goal made it 10–6 in the third quarter before Colandrea’s scoring run restored a wider margin. Colandrea finished with 255 passing yards, and Jacory Barney Jr. caught nine passes for 108 yards.
The Associated Press reported that Indiana extended its winning streak to 22 games. Its next challenge is a home game against Ohio State; Nebraska travels to Oregon. Saturday preserved the Hoosiers’ perfect record, but it also required them to win after their ground game had been held far below its recent standard.
