
Mack runs for 154 yards as Arizona State beats Hawai‘i, 30-12
Cardae Mack and Reed Harris score twice apiece as the Sun Devils finish a game interrupted by a halftime lightning delay.

Cardae Mack rushed for 154 yards and two touchdowns as Arizona State beat Hawai‘i 30-12 Saturday night in Tempe, completing a game interrupted by a halftime lightning delay. Reed Harris caught both of Cutter Boley's touchdown passes, and the Sun Devils finished with 420 yards of offense to improve to 3-2.
Mack supplied the longest scoring play with 51 seconds left in the third quarter, breaking a 67-yard touchdown run that pushed Arizona State's lead to 24-6. He carried 13 times, averaging 11.8 yards per attempt. The Sun Devils gained 231 yards on the ground, more than three times Hawai‘i's 64.
Hawai‘i answered early in the fourth quarter. Micah Alejado found Audric Harris for a 32-yard touchdown with 12:35 remaining, cutting the deficit to 24-12 after a failed two-point conversion. The Rainbow Warriors' next possession ended with an incomplete fourth-down pass at 7:53, giving Arizona State the ball with its two-touchdown lead intact.

Boley helped run down the clock on the ensuing possession with runs of nine and 20 yards, while Mack added a 15-yard gain. Boley then threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Reed Harris with 1:55 left. Arizona State's two-point pass attempt failed, leaving the final margin at 18 points. Hawai‘i punted on its last possession, and the Sun Devils closed with a kneel-down.
Boley completed 21 of 31 passes for 189 yards and two touchdowns without an interception. Reed Harris finished with eight receptions for 91 yards; Omarion Miller added six catches for 78. Boley also ran for 40 yards, giving Arizona State another way to sustain its final scoring drive.
The Sun Devils had taken a 7-3 first-quarter lead on Boley's 18-yard touchdown pass to Reed Harris. Mack's one-yard scoring run made it 14-3 in the second quarter. Sean Olvera Harle's 30-yard field goal brought Hawai‘i within eight before Carson Smith connected from 47 yards with 15 seconds remaining in the half for a 17-6 lead.
Arizona Sports reporter Damon Allred reported that lightning was spotted as the teams left the field at halftime. Fans were instructed to leave Mountain America Stadium while rain grew heavier. His report described intermittent rain during the first half; the scoring resumed with Mack's long run in the third quarter.
Alejado completed 25 of 49 passes for 252 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Kyan McDonald's third-quarter interception ended one Hawai‘i possession, although Arizona State came away without points when Smith missed a 37-yard field goal afterward. Kainoa Carvalho led the Rainbow Warriors with 86 receiving yards on seven catches, and Devin Alves gained 60 yards on three receptions.
Hawai‘i finished with 316 total yards and fell to 1-5. Arizona State committed no turnovers, while the Rainbow Warriors' interception was the game's only giveaway.
