No. 10 LSU beat No. 23 Texas A&M 35-6 on Saturday night, holding the Aggies without a touchdown and pulling away with three scores in the third quarter. Sam Leavitt threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns, both to Jackson Harris, who finished with 163 receiving yards. LSU gained 506 yards to Texas A&M's 197, a gap that made the final margin feel earned rather than accidental.
The Tigers established the lead with Dilin Jones's one-yard run in the first quarter. Texas A&M got on the board through a 24-yard David Olano field goal midway through the second, but LSU answered before halftime. Leavitt found Harris from 16 yards out with 1:54 remaining, sending LSU into the break ahead 14-3. The Aggies had stayed within two possessions on the scoreboard while struggling to extend drives.
The third quarter ended the suspense. Leavitt hit Harris for a 57-yard touchdown with 10:57 left in the period. The Associated Press account described it as a play fake on fourth-and-short, a call that turned a conversion attempt into LSU's longest scoring pass of the game. Landen Clark followed with a four-yard touchdown run to make it 28-3. Olano's 53-yard field goal briefly interrupted the surge, but Clark scored again from two yards out before the quarter was over. The sequence put LSU up 35-6, which held as the final.

LSU did not need a flawless passing night. Leavitt completed 17 of 23 attempts and threw one interception, but he also found the explosive connection that Texas A&M could not match. Harris caught six passes, averaging more than 27 yards per reception. The two third-quarter rushing scores gave the Tigers balance near the goal line after the deep pass widened the lead. ESPN's play-by-play confirms the scoring order and game times.
Marcel Reed completed 10 of 26 passes for 106 yards with an interception for the Aggies. Texas A&M finished with 11 first downs and two turnovers, while LSU had 20 first downs and one turnover. The Tigers' defense allowed only two field goals despite an Aggies offense trying to close the gap throughout the second half. The ESPN final box score supplies the team and individual totals.
There were injury concerns in the game, though no diagnosis belongs in the result. The Associated Press reported LSU linebacker Whit Weeks hobbled to the locker room in a walking boot after an apparent ankle injury, and Leavitt was limping after a play. Further medical status requires a team update. For now, the competitive result is clear: LSU's defense limited a ranked SEC opponent to six points, while Leavitt and Harris supplied the plays that broke open the game.
