  • Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz and defensive back Koen Entringer were listed as probable on Tuesday’s initial availability report for Friday’s home game against Florida State, according to the Courier Journal. Running back Keyjuan Brown was among four Cardinals listed as questionable.

Florida State had ten players listed out, FSU Wire reported, with defensive lineman Darryll Desir questionable. The first report gives both teams several personnel decisions to track before their October 9 game, scheduled for 7 p.m. Eastern on ESPN.

    Louisville’s early designations

Kienholz’s probable designation follows an apparent lower-leg injury against Wake Forest and a game-time decision before Louisville’s subsequent loss to NC State. He played in that 31-28 defeat. ESPN’s Pete Thamel also reported his Tuesday probable designation.

  • Entringer has missed two games. The Courier Journal reported that he warmed up before the NC State game but did not play; coach Jeff Brohm said Monday he was hopeful Entringer could return against Florida State.

Brown, offensive lineman Cason Henry, defensive lineman Daylen Russell and safety TJ Banks were listed as questionable. Louisville’s other probable players were defensive linemen AJ Green and Joshua Donald and offensive linemen Anwar O’Neal and Ellis McAdoo.

The Cardinals’ out list included defensive back Antonio Watts, tight ends Travis Egan and Hamilton Atkins, punter Jacob Baker, offensive linemen Bryten Close and Sam Secrest, receiver Montavin Quisenberry and defensive lineman Sam Dawson.

  • Florida State’s out list

FSU Wire identified running back Sam Singleton Jr. and receiver Devin Carter among the ten Seminoles ruled out on the initial report. The list also included defensive backs Karson Hobbs, Jamari Howard, Zae Thomas and Jordan Crutchfield, plus linebackers Blake Nichelson, Izayia Williams, Daylen Green and Noah LaVallee.

Desir was the Seminoles’ only player listed as questionable in that report.

    Further reports precede kickoff

The ACC requires football availability reports three nights before a conference game, updates on each subsequent day and a final report two hours before kickoff. Tuesday’s designations therefore precede further required updates. The conference’s report categories describe availability; they do not require a public explanation of why a player is unavailable.
