Jalen Hurts found Darius Cooper for a three-yard touchdown with nine seconds remaining Sunday, lifting Philadelphia past Tennessee 24-20 after the Eagles nearly let an afternoon of long drives and missed opportunities end in defeat.
The winning possession began with 1:56 left, Philadelphia trailing 20-17 and 65 yards separating the Eagles from the end zone. Hurts moved the offense downfield without timeouts and finished with the throw to Cooper. Jake Elliott’s extra point left the Titans needing a touchdown on their final chance.
Cam Ward moved Tennessee to midfield, but the last pass fell incomplete as time expired. Philadelphia improved to 2-0, while the Titans dropped to 0-2 after coming within seconds of their first win under Robert Saleh.

Smith keeps the passing game moving
Hurts finished 26 of 37 for 264 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. DeVonta Smith was his most frequent and productive target, catching 10 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown. Dontayvion Wicks added five receptions for 74 yards, helping Philadelphia sustain possessions even when the running game was limited.
Smith’s 22-yard touchdown catch gave the Eagles a first-half lead after Tank Bigsby had scored on a short run. Philadelphia went into halftime ahead 14-10 and extended the margin with Elliott’s 58-yard field goal in the third quarter.
The Titans kept answering. Ward scored twice on one-yard runs, the second bringing Tennessee level at 17 late in the third. Joey Slye’s 33-yard field goal with 1:56 remaining then put the Titans in front and forced Philadelphia to produce one more drive.
Cooper had only two receptions in the game, but they totaled 26 yards and included the decisive score. On a day Smith carried much of the passing workload, Hurts trusted another receiver with the final throw that mattered.
Turnovers keep Tennessee in reach
Philadelphia’s opening drive ended with Amani Hooker intercepting Hurts in the end zone and returning the ball 92 yards. That set up Ward’s first touchdown and erased the advantage the Eagles might have gained from their early control of possession.
A second Hurts interception helped position Tennessee for the field goal that gave it the late lead. The Eagles survived both turnovers, but only because their offense delivered a touchdown rather than settling for a tying kick on the final possession.
Ward completed 13 of 20 passes for 183 yards without an interception. Tony Pollard rushed for 64 yards and Tyjae Spears added 41. Tennessee had enough balance to stay close and enough defensive disruption to take the lead, but could not make the last stop.
Philadelphia also dealt with injuries. Saquon Barkley left with a stinger before returning in the third quarter and finished with nine rushing yards on four carries. Dallas Goedert hurt a knee during the second quarter. Their condition beyond the game requires further reporting.
The Eagles leave Nashville unbeaten, with Smith’s sustained production and Cooper’s late finish overcoming the turnovers that nearly cost them the game.
