North Texas faced a tied game early in the second quarter Saturday night, then scored the next 49 points to beat Houston Christian 63-14 in Denton. Jahiem White carried 11 times for 133 yards and four touchdowns, with all four scores arriving before halftime. ESPN’s final play and box-score records show how quickly the Mean Green broke open a game that had briefly been even.
White had already scored on runs of 24 and 47 yards in the first quarter, sending North Texas ahead 14-0. Houston Christian responded rather than folding: Cutter Stewart threw a two-yard touchdown to Jett Runion, and Maddox Kopp’s 26-yard run tied the game at 14 with 11:58 left in the second. That tie was the visitors’ last scoring point of the night. White answered with a three-yard run less than two minutes later, then scored from seven yards with 1:15 left before the break.
The Mean Green added another second-quarter touchdown between White’s final two runs, a 41-yard pass from Chris Jimerson Jr. to Justin Stevenson. Their 35-14 halftime lead became 49-14 in the third on a Tayven Jackson pass to TJ Chukwurah and a Chaston Ditta pass to Baron Tipton. Jaden Allen returned an interception 34 yards for a fourth-quarter touchdown, and Ditta finished the scoring on a four-yard run. The scoring log shows offense, defense and multiple passers contributing after the initial White burst.

North Texas finished with 648 yards, 248 rushing, against 238 total yards for Houston Christian. The Mean Green converted five of eight third downs and turned over the ball once; the Huskies went three of 15 and gave it away three times. Jackson was 16-for-18 for 270 yards and a touchdown, while White averaged more than 12 yards per carry. Stewart led Houston Christian through the air with 123 yards and one touchdown on nine completions, but the Huskies could not sustain another scoring drive after the early tie.
The North Texas official schedule lists this as a home game at DATCU Stadium, a useful anchor for the evening result. White’s four touchdowns are the headline, yet the decisive stretch was broader than one runner: North Texas answered the tied game immediately, reached halftime three scores up and kept adding points after White’s work was done. Houston Christian’s early recovery showed the matchup was competitive for a short period. The final 49-point run and the 410-yard total-offense gap explain why it did not remain that way.
