  • The scoring spread reflected the number of players used. Pelle Larsson scored 13 points while making all three field-goal attempts and all seven free throws. Hardaway went 4 for 4 from the floor, including 3 for 3 from three, and made all three of his free throws. Ian Schieffelin added 11 points on 4-for-4 shooting.

Nikola Jovic also scored 11, collecting seven rebounds and four assists in 17 minutes. Bam Adebayo finished with 10 points and six rebounds. Miami’s final line showed 42 makes in 86 field-goal attempts, 14 three-pointers in 40 tries and a 31-for-36 performance at the foul line.

Toronto struggled to match that efficiency. The Raptors made 37 of 94 shots and 12 of 41 three-pointers, with a 19-for-30 night at the foul line. RJ Barrett and Tyreke Key shared the team scoring lead with 15 points. Barrett made seven of eight free throws, while Key hit four of seven attempts from three.

  • Scottie Barnes contributed 11 points and three steals in 12 minutes. Collin Murray-Boyles led Toronto with nine rebounds, and Jamal Shead had seven assists. Those individual contributions came during a game in which the Raptors forced 25 Miami turnovers and recorded 17 steals, although the additional possessions did not produce enough scoring to erase the early deficit.

Miami won the rebounding count 55–43 and blocked seven shots. Its passing and shooting overcame its turnovers, while Toronto’s shooting percentages left the home side chasing the score from the opening quarter.

The Canadian Press reported that Kawhi Leonard did not dress and that Toronto is continuing his recovery without rushing him. The Raptors next play the Clippers in Vancouver on October 10 as the NBA Canada Series continues. Saturday’s final provides a first preseason look at Miami’s rebuilt rotation, with Antetokounmpo’s passing and a varied group of scorers producing the opening win.
