Fresno State won the Battle for the Valley 26-10 at San Jose State, using four interceptions to turn a tight rivalry game into the final decisive result carried from the previous west-close checkpoint. The Bulldogs moved to 2-1, while San Jose State dropped to 2-2.
San Jose State quarterback Luke Weaver completed 21 of 38 passes for 244 yards and a touchdown, but the four interceptions repeatedly ended drives. The Spartans had a productive receiving night from Anthony Ivey, who caught seven passes for 150 yards, yet the turnovers erased the value of those gains. San Jose State also managed 94 rushing yards from Jabari Bates on 19 carries.
Fresno State did not need a huge passing total to win. Jayden Mandal completed 15 of 29 passes for 186 yards and a touchdown, while the Bulldogs added 57 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown from Bryson Donelson. Josiah Freeman led Fresno State's receiving group with six catches for 95 yards and a touchdown.

The central difference was possession security. Fresno State converted San Jose State's mistakes into enough scoring pressure to separate after the teams traded early points. San Jose State's 10 points included a fourth-quarter touchdown, but the Spartans could not generate a sustained comeback with Weaver's four interceptions giving Fresno State extra opportunities.
The official ESPN event packet and both team athletics lanes were checked for the final, date, leaders and rivalry context. Official Fresno State and San Jose State X and YouTube lanes were searched for an event-specific dated native item; no verifiable native URL was available in the checked lanes, so no stale or unrelated clip was added. This recap completes another unfinished game without duplicating the four individual recaps already released in the west-close window.
Fresno State leaves with a road rivalry win built on defensive takeaways. San Jose State's passing production shows the offense had opportunities, but four interceptions left too many possessions unfinished for the Spartans to stay in the game.
The rivalry result also completes the pending ledger cleanly. Fresno State-San Jose State was still live at the last checkpoint, so this report adds a verified final rather than repeating a Sunday-night recap. The Bulldogs' one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown were enough because their defense kept ending drives before San Jose State could turn its yardage into points.
