No. 21 Florida beat No. 4 Ole Miss 52-28 in Gainesville on Saturday, turning a three-point third-quarter game into a 24-point win. Jadan Baugh ran 29 times for 142 yards and three touchdowns, and the Gators finished with 302 rushing yards. The ESPN game record shows Florida scoring 35 second-half points against a Rebels team that had entered the week unbeaten and fourth in the AP poll.
Florida led 10-0 after one quarter. Baugh opened the scoring with a four-yard run, and Patrick Durkin added a 49-yard field goal. Ole Miss managed only two Lucas Carneiro field goals before halftime, while Baugh scored again from two yards out to make the break 17-6. The Rebels had 25 first downs overall, but those first-half possessions did not reach the end zone.
Trinidad Chambliss changed the game briefly after halftime. His eight-yard touchdown run and a two-point conversion cut the margin to 17-14. Duke Clark answered immediately with a 45-yard Florida run, then Chambliss scored from ten yards to make it 24-21 with 5:21 left in the third. That was Ole Miss's closest approach after the early stages. Aaron Philo pushed Florida back ahead by ten on a one-yard keeper before the quarter ended.

The final period exposed the difference between a comeback and an exchange of touchdowns. Dallas Wilson's six-yard run made it 38-21. Chambliss found Deuce Alexander from two yards to restore a ten-point game, but Florida responded with Philo's five-yard pass to Amir Jackson. Baugh's third rushing touchdown, another two-yard run with four minutes left, completed a 21-point Gators fourth quarter. Florida gained 498 yards and committed no turnovers; Ole Miss gained 426 and lost two, according to the final box score.
Philo completed 16 of 23 passes for 196 yards and a touchdown. Chambliss went 25 of 34 for 298 yards, one passing touchdown and one interception, while adding two rushing scores. Alexander caught seven passes for 134 yards and a touchdown. Those Rebel numbers help explain why Ole Miss remained within reach into the third quarter, but they do not erase the repeated Florida answers on the ground.
The result is a significant SEC statement for first-year Florida coach Jon Sumrall. The Gators' pregame account had framed Baugh as the centerpiece of a prolific offense, and the final showed that production against a top-five opponent. AP's independent postgame report confirmed the upset. Florida's ranking and conference position will be determined by later results and the next poll; Saturday's verified result is that its running game controlled the decisive stretch.
