Dylan Edwards ran for three touchdowns, Isaiah Marshall added a second 100-yard rushing performance and Kansas shut out Middle Tennessee 55–0 on Saturday in Lawrence. The Jayhawks led 20–0 at halftime and scored touchdowns on five second-half possessions to leave the Blue Raiders without a route back into the game.
Edwards carried 20 times for 137 yards. Marshall ran for 110 yards on 11 attempts and completed 13 of 22 passes for 161 yards and a touchdown. Kansas combined those quarterback and running-back contributions with a defense that allowed only 136 total yards.
Edwards turns an early lead into separation
Kansas first put points on the board with a 43-yard field goal by Martin Connington in the opening quarter. Edwards supplied the first touchdown early in the second, scoring on a six-yard run. He added a five-yard score with 4:23 left before halftime, and Connington’s 35-yard field goal made it 20–0 at the break.

The Jayhawks did not allow the halftime interval to interrupt that sequence. Edwards scored his third touchdown on a 12-yard run at 12:20 of the third quarter, extending the margin to 27–0. Marshall then found Nahzae Cox for a 34-yard touchdown pass later in the period.
Those two scores moved Kansas from a comfortable lead to a 34-point advantage before the fourth quarter began. Middle Tennessee had not produced a scoring drive to answer any of them.

That combination kept Kansas’ offense on the field and left Middle Tennessee with little opportunity to change the game’s direction. The Jayhawks improved to 2–2; the Blue Raiders fell to 2–3. Kansas’ official report lists an October 10 road game at Utah next on the schedule.
