No. 5 Miami beat Wake Forest 33-20 on Friday night, moving to 3-0 and handing the Demon Deacons their first conference loss. The Hurricanes led 24-13 after three quarters and held Wake Forest to seven fourth-quarter points while finishing the game with four passing touchdowns and a safety.
Darian Mensah drove the result. ESPN's game recap identified a new ACC consecutive-completions mark for the Miami quarterback, and the scoring sequence shows him throwing touchdown passes to Joshua Moore, Elija Lofton and Malachi Toney. Mark Fletcher Jr. added a one-yard rushing touchdown, while Jake Weinberg kicked a 27-yard field goal.
Wake Forest answered with two touchdown passes from Gio Lopez, including a 23-yard score to Jack Foley and a 17-yard touchdown to Carlos Hernandez. Miami's defense stopped the comeback with a fourth-quarter safety, and the Hurricanes closed out a road win without allowing Wake to turn its late possessions into a tie game.

The result gives Miami a second straight ACC win and keeps the Hurricanes unbeaten heading into Saturday's national schedule. Wake Forest falls to 2-1 and now has to recover from a game in which its offense produced several explosive passes but could not match Miami's efficiency across four quarters.
