  • Jayden Daniels has been cleared to start against the New York Giants on Sunday, ending a two-game absence following a dislocated elbow. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed the decision Friday, the Commanders announced.

  • Daniels completed a full week of practice. He has worn a brace on his left arm since returning to the practice field last week, when Washington was preparing to play Indianapolis in London.

The Commanders considered a return for that game but gave the elbow another week to heal. Friday’s clearance turns the plan for this week into a confirmed starting assignment.

  • The brace will remain part of Daniels’ equipment for the rest of the season, according to Washington. The team said he consulted multiple specialists and worked with its medical staff before settling on a return plan.

Washington comes home at 1-3 and faces its third NFC East opponent in five weeks. The Giants game gives Daniels his first opportunity to help the offense since the Week 2 injury.

His return also comes while the receiving group has unresolved availability questions. The NFL’s Friday update reported that Stefon Diggs will not play with a hamstring injury. Terry McLaurin returned to practice Friday, but Quinn had not confirmed whether he would play.

  • The quarterback decision is settled. Washington’s final injury report still matters for the players available around him.
