  • Cole Hamels’s former Missouri estate presents a different kind of home tour. The setting and major spaces are established, but the main house remains unfinished. Target Auction Company’s property video lets viewers distinguish the lakefront vision from the work still required to turn that vision into a fully completed residence.

Homes of Celebs reported September 2, 2026, that the former pitcher’s Table Rock Lake property was headed to auction with a $2.9 million starting bid. Target’s page lists bidding dates of September 17–24 and describes a bank-ordered offering. Those dates have passed; the page reviewed for this article did not provide a verified closing result. A starting bid is not a sale price.

  • The ownership history also needs care. The Springfield News-Leader reported that Hamels commissioned the house, later donated the property to Camp Barnabas, and that the charity subsequently sold it. The later auction should not be presented as a current sale by Hamels or as evidence about his finances.

  • The property’s strongest organizing feature is the water. Target describes approximately 104 acres and more than 1,700 feet of shoreline. A beach-entry infinity pool faces the lake, creating a foreground for the wider view. That relationship is easier to understand in the official tour than in a list of acreage and amenities.

Inside, exposed construction and partially finished rooms are part of the story. Bespoke wood-beam details suggest the intended scale and character, but they do not make the residence move-in ready. The tour is useful precisely because it shows a project rather than asking viewers to imagine that every room has already reached its final form.

Separate guest accommodation, an RV and boat garage, and outdoor play areas extend the estate beyond the main building. The garage has a practical connection to the lakefront location: equipment and watercraft need somewhere to live, too.

  • For a design wish list, the pool’s relationship to the shoreline is the compelling idea. For anyone evaluating the property itself, the unfinished condition is equally central. The official marketing tour shows both, and neither should disappear behind the size of the house.
